I posted this question a long time ago before my puter crashed and I lost it all. If you have children 8 and under especially 5 and under, what are some ways you can think of to talk about God at their level and using gardening of flowers to teach lessons. Please only answer if you have good ideas, the answer that just post to get 10 points or 3 pts. for answering are just irritants to us all. I know children very very well, but I always like to brain storm and last time I came up with great responses to put on my list. WEd. is our first and I think I%26#039;m going to start looking at various flower seed of all kinds and shapes and explain to them that they were created by God like this, and then each plants one and as time goes by it will turn into some kind of flower, just like God created them unique etc. Please don%26#039;t voice your opinion as to whether you think I should do this or not, if I wanted to know that, I would ask, please :)
Christian story hour based on seeds, growing, flowers gardening, any great verses or Bible stories ?
I would start by brainstorming topics about plants first. Then see how they fit in with God.
Plants:
--Grow
--Are born
--Give us food
--Give us shelter from the sun
--Provide homes for animals
--Often need to be taken care of
--Have interesting ways to get their seeds around
Now, take one or two of those topics and brainstorm again.

--God gives us shelter
--How does God protect us?
--Shade gives us rest.
--We don%26#039;t always think of that as a benefit God gave us, but it is one we are supplied with.
I tend to like that third one.
Maybe you can develop a story where someone is walking in the hot sun and needs a rest. He stops under the shade of a tree and decides it is a good place for a while. As he sits under the tree, he notices several different ways people are helping each other.
Children can then make up their own pictures of their favorite things to do to help others and share them with the group.
All this came off the top of my head brainstorming as I typed. Might be a good idea...might not be the greatest idea...might be a horrible idea. I just wanted to share the process of how I come up with these things.

Reply:Another option in addition to your ideas is to plant the flowers in 3 different types of soils. This can reference the parable of the seed that fell on different soil and how it grew. And easy way would be to but some clay soil in a pot and never water it, another pot could have a bunch of weeds, and the third one could be really good maintained soil.

I dropped off flowers at this girl house but there was no response about it at school what could have happened
Well I drove to her house to drop some flowers at her door step and I expected some gosip about it. I left I nice note with the flowers, but I put it as anominous. I expected gosip the next day b/t her friends, but no mention. What happened? I also noticed that same day she seemed like she was seeing someone who was her boyfriend for couple days or a week and I did not realize.

This was written about an ex-friend who %26quot;loved%26quot; someone too much. It has some light mature content. If you are uncomfortable with that please stop reading. I think this is more of an audition monologue with a few poetic elements--so, think of it in that way instead of just as a poem. Let me know if you like it.
Faded Flowers
I really knew it was over when I found my bags packed,
and placed neatly on the doorstep. You were always
so considerate. I admired your attention to detail.
The way you would clean the sheets
after your afternoon romps with whomever.
If I were more like you I would have called first,
or at least knocked. Well, I just wanted you to know,
I appreciated you packing my bags between orgasms.
It’s pathetic but I still held out hope
that we’d get back together.
Yes, you said, “I hate you!” But,
it was how you said it. Confusion.
That’s what I heard in your voice.
You’d come around.
So, I waited
and watched
in a friend’s car across the street.
You were never alone, but you seemed
so lonely. Fragile. I wanted to hold you.
I know, I know, I got a little crazy
all right obsessive. What could I do?
You did this to me.
I began to see how you really were.
You didn’t deserve my love.
You may have noticed--you never noticed!
But I went to your funeral. I brought you flowers.

Let%26#039;s see. Relatively common flowers that would go well include gladiolus, carnations, daisies, dahilas, baby%26#039;s breath, oriental or asiatic lilies,orchids,snapdragons,freesia, and hyacinths.
As to your bouquet, that depends on if you want a large or small one. If your personal boquet is small, stick with mostly smaller flowers like carnations, roses, dasies, small asiatic lilies, snapdragons and highlight with a few large blooms like a spray of gladious or a few large easter lilies.

Reply:Do not use the Hydrangeas in your bouquet unless you are willing to accept that they will wilt very quickly....they need a constant source of water and bruise very easily. If you decide to use it anyway you will need to have your bouquet, and all in the bridal party, in vases before and after the ceremony. I did a wedding last year for a bride who would only use Hydrangeas, they were beautiful but fragile beyond belief. Choose a few. The fillers can also be in your alter/pew markers.

As to your bouquet, that depends on if you want a large or small one. If your personal boquet is small, stick with mostly smaller flowers like carnations, roses, dasies, small asiatic lilies, snapdragons and highlight with a few large blooms like a spray of gladious or a few large easter lilies.

Growing flowers in Georgia?
I resently moved to Southern Georgia from Wisconsin. I want to plant flowers but am clueless as what to plant. I am only going to be living here for three years so i dont want anything expensive, but at the same time i dont want to replant moreflowers every year. What resonable priced perenials will grow in the sandy soil here? We have really tall pine trees here, I ws thinking of planting something around the base of the tree thats will climb the tree. I was wondering if a climbing rose could be planted there or if maybe i%26#039;ll have better luck with a humming bird vine. Im also wondering what would work best around hedges to dress them up. The only thing i can think of that would grow well there is periwinkle since the soil is poor and rocky. I want to plant something arond the base of the bird feeder also. Something that attracts butterflys and humming birds. I was thinking butterfly bush but that grows too tall and wide. I need ideas on what to plant, and best time to plant. thanks

In my gardens, I mix with garden soil and other soils to grow most any kind of flowers and plants.

I have a cream and green theme and would like to use this in the flowers. We are doing the table decorations ourselves so any tips would be great. If anyone can give us ideas for cheaper options that would be great too - ive eaten well into my budget !!! Help !!

Flowers like hydrangeas, roses, lisianthus, stock, stephanotis etc, are grown all year round somewhere.

You could just buy the plants at Home Depot or something and cut the blooms yourself. It would be a wonderful reminder of your wedding every year when they bloom. My mom did the flowers for our wedding and just bought plants from the garden center to use for the greens in our arrangements, I still have one of the plants that she cut greens from.
You can also try looking online at wholesale florist places, or if you have a Costco or Sam%26#039;s club nearby you can save tons on flowers there. I get 2 dozen roses at Costco for $14.99.

If it%26#039;s a lunch reception, use ivory and green rose petals around the centerpiece.

With everyone eating and dancing in a room which is usually dimly lit, most people will not look close enough to know whether they are real or silk. It is very easy to make up arrangements yourself and most floral craft shops will be glad to give you tips, since you%26#039;re buying your supplies there.
I also think a centerpiece of just 2 long stem roses standing together inside a slender clear vase with glass beads would be elegant and pretty. You could add tea lights around them as well. Congratulations!
